South River Police Blotter: Here’s What Happened

SOUTH RIVER, NJ – Police in South River have released details about the following incidents that took place in June. The report was released on July 28th.

“Our weekly police blotter highlights noteworthy incidents that occur on a day to day basis in order to keep our community informed. Please keep in mind that, in the case of any ongoing investigation, we are not able to release certain details and information,” the department said. “In the case of major incidents or investigations, press releases are typically issued at a later date. All charges are merely accusations; those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

SHOPLIFTING, Prospect Street on 6/6 @ 1508 hours – A report was taken for shoplifting from a business. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Kenneth Nale at 732-254-9002 ext. 123.


MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT & DUI, Cleveland Avenue on 6/7 @ 0231 hours – Patrol units responded to a single car motor vehicle accident in which a vehicle drove into a wooded area. The driver was subsequently charged with driving under the influence and other motor vehicle infractions. Ptl. Mark Kukoda was the arresting officer.

SUSPICIOUS ITEM, Main Street on 6/7 @ 1654 hours – An individual reported finding a handgun next to a business which was subsequently recovered by our department. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Kenneth Nale at 732-254-9002 ext. 123.
