Egg Harbor Man Charged for Distributing Images of Children

MAYS LANDING (PRESS RELEASE)  – A 35-year-old Egg Harbor Township man has been charged in connection with the distribution of child abuse images and videos via a social messaging application, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office announced.  William Roman Jr., 35, was arrested without incident and lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility. The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a referral of inappropriate content distributed on the social media application SnapChat.  A subsequent investigation led Atlantic County Prosecutor Detectives to identify Roman and additional videos of child sexual exploitation in his possession.

Roman is charged with 2nd. degree charges surrounding the possession and distribution of child abuse images via a social messaging service.  Roman was also charged with 3rd. degree possession of child abuse images.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit was assisted by the United States Department of Homeland Security Investigations and the Egg Harbor Township Police Department.

These charges are merely an accusation and not proof of guilt. In all criminal cases, a charged defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
