Baltimore Security Officer Shoots Suspect After He Attempted To Take Weapon

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – The Baltimore Police Department has made an arrest in a shooting (graze wound) to the abdomen by a security officer. This incident happened last night on the 2000 block of Maryland Avenue in Northern Baltimore.

According to detectives, “At approximately 8:10 p.m., Northern District officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Maryland Avenue to investigate a reported shooting. Officers responded to the location and were informed that an unknown male attempted to take a security officer’s weapon. After a brief struggle, the security officer gained control of the weapon and fired at the male. The male fled the scene and walked into a local hospital for treatment. The male suffered a graze wound to the abdomen. Police responded to the hospital and have the male in custody.”
