PITTSBURGH, PA – A rideshare driver in Pittsburgh was dispatched to an address on Chartiers Avenue near Elliott Park early this morning where four armed men waited to carjack him.

According to the Pittsburgh Police Department, just before 3 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Chartiers Avenue for a reported carjacking.

“Responding units spoke with a male victim who told them he was working as a rideshare driver called to pick up passengers at a residence in that block,” police said. “When he arrived, he got out of the vehicle and four males wearing masks and all armed with weapons approached him.”

They proceeded to hold a gun to his head and rob him of his cash. The victim was otherwise unharmed and was not taken to the hospital.

The suspects then got into the victim’s white, 4-door, 2019 Ford Focus and fled the area.
