Cumberland Police Blotter: Arrests Reported

CUMBERLAND, MD – The following three incidents were reported by the Cumberland Police Department on Tuesday.


On August 1st, 2022, The Cumberland City Police arrested Andrew Jacob Getz, 42, of Cumberland MD. Getz was arrested on an outstanding Bench Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court. The warrant alleges that Getz failed to obey the terms and conditions of his probation that stemmed from a previous theft charge. Getz was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held without bond.

On August 1st, 2022, The Cumberland City Police arrested Skylar Claudia Short, 22, of Cumberland MD. Short was arrested on an outstanding Bench Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court on July 29th, 2022. The warrant alleges that Short failed to appear in District Court on that date for a previous charge of driving on a suspended license. Short was taken before the District Court Commissioner for her Initial Appearance where she was released on her own personal recognizance.



On August 1st, 2022, the Cumberland City Police responded to a residence in the 300 block of Columbia St for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers contacted the victim of the alleged assault. The victim advised officers that they had been assaulted inside the home multiple times since the previous night which resulted in numerous visible injuries. As a result of the investigation, Anthony Jerome Causion, 52, of Cumberland MD, was placed under arrest for 1st and 2nd degree assault. Causion was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held without bond.
