Police in Columbus Searching for Cigarette Thief

COLUMBUS, OH – Columbus police are continuing their cold case investigation into the theft of two cartons of cigarettes on July 12th. The suspect has managed to evade police and remain at large for the crime.

According to police, on July 12, 9:52 PM, a suspect with short gray hair and glasses entered a business in the 4400 block of E. 5th Ave.

“The suspect approached the counter with several items and asked the employee to grab him two cartons of cigarettes,” police said. “When the employee placed the cigarettes on the counter to ring up the transaction, the suspect grabbed both cartons and fled the business without paying.”
