Vehicle Set On Fire After Others Broken Into in Lacey

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ – Police in Lacey are investigating a vehicle fire that occurred on Monday after several residents reported their vehicles have been broken into. At this time, police are not sure if the fire was set by the same individual who committed the previous vehicle thefts.

According to police, on Monday, at 10:35 p.m., Officers Copes responded to Hollywood Drive North for a report of a car fire. Upon arrival, officers observed an SUV with flames coming from it. 

Forked River Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.  While on scene, several victims reported their vehicles had been unlawfully entered.  It was later determined the vehicle that was on fire, had also been entered.  This investigation is ongoing.
