OCEAN CITY, MD – A man who entered an Ocean City Hotel and robbed money from a safe, police said today also robbed two businesses between August 6th and 7th.

Today, the Ocean City Police Department arrested Chad Anthony Cirigliano, 43, Ocean City, MD for two commercial burglaries that occurred in the downtown area over the weekend.

According to police Cirigliano had entered a restricted employee-only office and stole a large amount of U.S. currency from a safe. Officers were able to view video surveillance from that timeframe, and observed a male, later identified as Cirigliano, walk into a restricted employee-only area in the basement of the building. Officers later determined that Cirigliano had forced entry into an office within the basement, and stole the cash before exiting the building through an internally locked rear door.

“During the evening hours of August 7, 2022, officers responded to a downtown hotel in the area of 8th Street and Atlantic Ave for a reported burglary. Officers were able to view surveillance video from the early morning hours of August 7th, when the burglary occurred. Officers observed Cirigliano access a restricted employee-only office area through an unlocked office door. Cirigliano opened the cash register and stole U.S. currency before exiting the building,” police said.
