Test Drive Turns into Grand Theft Auto at Columbus Honda Dealer

COLUMBUS, OH – A test drive at a local Honda dealer in Columbus turned into grand theft auto and now police are searching for the brazen car thief.

According to police, on July 16, 2022, the suspect acted interested in looking at a 2011 Honda Cross Tour at a car dealership in the 2300 block of Cleveland Avenue.

“The salesperson was showing the vehicle to the suspect and accidentally left the keys in the SUV. The suspect drove off the lot with the vehicle while the employee walked to the sales office to get a dealer tag for a test drive,” police reported.
