24 Year-Old Arrested For Baltimore Murder

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – The Baltimore Police Department has made an arrest in the murder of 27 year-old Trayvon Johnson that took place on August 1st in Southern Baltimore. 24-year-old Daquan Gilliard surrendered himself to detectives yesterday. He was arrested and charged with 1st degree murder. Gilliard is being held at the Central Booking Intake Facility in Baltimore.

According to police, “On August 1, 2022, at approximately 9:21 p.m., Southern District patrol officers were dispatched to a home located in the 2400 block of Kermit Court. There were reports that a shooting occurred inside of a residence. When officers arrived at the location, they observed 27-year-old Travon Johnson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and was pronounced dead by medical personnel after succumbing to his injuries.”

Homicide detectives were able to identify a suspect through the course of their investigation.
