Franklin Township Police Blotter: Here’s What’s Happening

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ – The Franklin Township Police Department is investigating the following police-involved incidents that occurred last week.

08/08/2022

A resident reported criminal mischief to a vehicle parked in her driveway in the area of Elizabeth Ave. The vehicle sustained a broken window and flattened tires some time between 07/22/22 and 08/08/22. The unknown suspect(s) caused approximately $250.00 worth of damage.


08/09/2022

A business located on Somerset St. was the victim of a shoplifting by a white or Hispanic male. The suspect stole approximately $50.00 worth of Red Bull and fled the area on a bicycle during the morning hours.

Abrahim M. Badreldin, 27, of Edison, NJ, Samantha L. Mase, 24, of Old Bridge, NJ, and David L. Salvagno, 30, of Old Bridge, NJ were arrested and charged with drug related offenses. They were processed and transported to Somerset County Jail pending a court appearance. NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

08/10/2022

A resident reported his vehicle stolen from a driveway in the area of Lenape Dr. during the morning hours. The vehicle was later recovered in an outside jurisdiction. The suspect(s) is unknown.

Rafael Fonseca-Venegas, 50, of Raritan, NJ was arrested for DWI during a suspicious vehicle investigation in the area of Cedar Ave. He was processed and released pending a court appearance. NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

A business located on Rt. 27 was the victim of criminal mischief during the evening hours on 08/10/22. An unknown suspect(s) broke the store front window with a rock. Damage was estimated to be $800.00.

A business located on Easton Ave. was the victim of a theft committed by a suspect described as a black male. The suspect fled the store with $60.00 worth of lottery tickets during the evening hours.

A biodiesel company hailing from New York reported the theft of cooking oil from drums located in the rear of a store located on Easton Ave. The oil valued at $1575.00 was stolen between 06/23/22 and 08/12/22 by an unknown suspect(s).

A business located on Somerset St. was the victim of a shoplifting during the morning hours. The suspect described as a Hispanic male, stole a sandwich and fled the store prior to police arrival.
