Police Seeking Robbery Suspect Who Used Victim’s Credit Cards at Liquor Store

NEWARK, NJ – An armed robbery suspect was identified by security cameras after he used credit cards belonging to his victim to make a purchase this week.

The robbery took place at 10:45 pm on August 11, when the victim was robbed at 11 Pennington Street. Police said the suspect approached him from behind with a weapon that he stuck in the victim’s back.

“The suspect, who was wearing a surgical mask and dark-colored clothing, took the victim’s wallet containing credit and debit cards, and fled westbound on Pennington towards Broad Street. The suspect is described as a 5’8” Black male with a medium build and he appears to be in his 20s,” police reported.


Two days after the robbery, on August 13, 2022, the below-pictured suspect on the left was captured on surveillance video attempting to use one of the stolen credit cards at 2:50 a.m. at a gas station near Broad Street and Lincoln Park. The suspect pictured below on the right attempted to use a stolen credit card at 10:07 a.m. at a liquor store in the same location.
