Search Warrant in Atlantic City Leads Police to Gun and Drugs in Convention Center Hotel Room

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – An Atlantic City SWAT team executed a search warrant inside a hotel room at the Atlantic City convention center Sheraton Hotel.

According to police, on Tuesday, detectives of the Special Investigations Section, along with members of the Atlantic City Police Department’s SWAT Team, executed a court-approved search warrant at a hotel room in the first block of Convention Boulevard.

“Prior to the execution of the search warrant, detectives located the target individual, Joaquin DeJesus, arriving in his vehicle at which point he was detained and found in possession of 7 grams of suspected cocaine packaged for distribution and $1,505 in US currency,” police said. “The subsequent search of his hotel room led to the discovery of a 9mm handgun along with an additional 4.5 grams of suspected cocaine and approximately $6,000 US currency. The funds, totaling $7,505.00, are believed to be the proceeds from illegal narcotics sales and were seized by detectives.”
