Newark Street Closures, Traffic Expected Sunday Due to Latin Festival

NEWARK, NJ – The 5th annual Latin festival will be held in Newark on Sunday and police are expecting traffic delays due to several road closures.

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé announces that the following streets will be closed during the below designated hours due to the City of Newark’s 5th Annual Latin Festival.

Beginning from 1 a.m., Sunday, August 21, 2022, to Midnight, Monday, August 22, 2022


Bloomfield Avenue between Lake Street and Clifton Avenue

Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and to plan alternate routes.

The festival will be held from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday, August 21, 2022, on Bloomfield Avenue, between Lake Street and Clifton Avenue.

Note: Public consumption of alcohol is prohibited during this event. All bags and backpacks will be subject to search upon entry. Certain items, such as weapons, illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, noise makers, drones of any type, glass containers, alcohol, coolers, and all smoking devices, etc., are strictly prohibited.

Director Fragé thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event.
