Howard County Police Department Issue Warning Against Pop-Up Car Rallies

HOWARD COUNTY, MD – The Howard County Police Department issued a warning against pop-up car rallies this weekend in the county.

“Just a reminder not to bring dangerous pop-up car rallies to Howard County this weekend! We have now charged two drivers from a previous rally in Hickory Ridge and are working to identify more,” police said. “Officers will continue to have a significant presence after seeing great success pushing these destructive rallies out of the county or preventing them from happening at all.”

The department said these events are destroying property, disturbing the peace and endangering crowds of onlookers as the drivers do dangerous burnouts and donuts.

“So here’s fair warning: with more officers out this weekend, it would be best to keep these activities out of Howard County,” the department said.
