82-Year-Old Dementia Patient Lost in Newark

NEWARK, NJ – Police in Newark are searching for an 82-year-old man suffering from dementia who was last seen on Tuesday.

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in locating Willie Allen, 82, of Newark, reported missing today, August 24, 2022.

Mr. Allen, who a neighbor reports as suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s, was last seen at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Columbia Avenue near Plymouth Street, entering his vehicle, a 2021 gray Honda CRV wagon with NJ plate No. HX5544.

While detectives are actively searching for Mr. Allen, we seek the public’s help in quickly locating him. He is described as 5’10” tall and 180 pounds, with a bald head, and brown eyes. Mr. Allen also uses a prosthetic right leg due to a previous amputation. He was wearing a black shirt with burgundy stripes, black jeans, beige shoes, and a dark-colored baseball cap.
