Syracuse Man Charged for Stolen Vehicle Out of New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – On August 20th, 2022, at about 8:35am, New Rochelle Police were alerted of a stolen auto entering the City from I-95.  Multiple Police Units canvassed the area and the vehicle was found, parked and unoccupied in front of 572 Main Street.  Officers were able to discretely approach the vehicle and verify its status as stolen without drawing attention of a possible suspect.

 Officers observed the VIN number that is displayed on the dashboard to be different from a VIN number located on another part of the car. Officers were then able to monitor the vehicle until the suspect returned where he was taken into custody without incident.

Cedric Wilborn, 51 years of age, of Syracuse was arrested.
