Utica Police Charge 15-Year-Old With Gun After Disturbance at Proctor Park

Utica, NY- on Sunday, the Utica Police Department was dispatched to an area near Proctor Park regarding a large group that was being disorderly. The police arrived on scene at around 5:10 PM.

“Upon arrival the officers were directed toward the group and while speaking with them, an officer noticed what appeared to be a handgun magazine in one of their pockets. Upon additional visual inspection, he then noticed what appeared to be the outline of handgun in the other pocket,” police said. “Upon seeing this the officers detained the party and during a pat frisk they felt what they initially observed. The items were then removed and it was determined that the male possessed a loaded 9mm handgun and a magazine with ammunition.”

“The party was then transported to the Utica Police Department upon where it was learned that he was 15 years of age. As such his identity will not be released,” the department said.
