Armed Robbers Seeking Riches in Safe Walk Away With Consolation Prize in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Armed men forced their way into a mechanic shop on Atlantic Street in Philadelphia on Wednesday and assaulted an employee after finding out the business did not have a safe.

The men didn’t get the safe they wanted but were able to leave with a wallet and some cash.

According to police, at approximately 12:53 pm, three unknown black males armed with guns pushed their way into a mechanic shop located on the 10xx block of E Atlantic Street and approach an employee, a 44-year-old-male and took his firearm and wallet.

“The suspects also took a cable box which they wrongly believed was the DVR to the security cameras. The suspects then began looking for the safe and after telling the suspects he didn’t have one, they struck him once on the head then fled and were last seen in an older model Ford Taurus,” police said.
