Two 14-Year-Olds Arrested for Knifepoint Robbery of Multiple Women

HOCKESSIN, DE – Police have arrested two 14-year-old juvenile males for attempted robbery and related charges following an incident where they attempted to rob two women of their purses at knifepoint. The women refused and the suspects fled, but they were identified, arrested and charged this week.

According to the Delaware State Police, on August 25, at approximately 7:44 p.m., troopers responded to the Capriottis sandwich shop, located at 120 Lantana Drive, Hockessin, DE regarding an attempted knife-point robbery.

“A 66-year-old female victim and a 38-year-old female victim were sitting outside of the sandwich shop when they were approached by two suspects. One of the suspects displayed a kitchen knife towards the victims and demanded both their car keys. The victims did not comply so the suspect then demanded their purses. The victims again did not comply, so the suspects fled the scene on foot,” police said.


Police reported, through investigative means troopers identified the two suspects and obtained warrants for their arrest. On August 30, 2022, the 14-year-old juvenile male of New Castle turned himself in at Troop 6.

On Wednesday, the other 14-year-old juvenile male of Hockessin turned himself in at New Castle County Police Department.
