Beachwood Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Berkeley Township

BAYVILLE, NJ – A 26-year-old man was killed after the motorcycle he was driving was involved in a crash with another vehicle that sent him and his motorcycle into the nearby Woods.

On August 30th, at approximately 5:11 PM officers responded to 804 Pinewald-Keswick Rd for a report of a motor vehicle crash with a motorcyclist down into the woods. This crash involved two vehicles.

“Officers arrived on scene and began performing life saving measures along with Berkeley EMS and Robert Wood Johnson Medics. Several cycles of CPR were performed on the victim however they were unsuccessful,” police said. “The 26-year-old male identified as Daniel Wisnewski of Beachwood succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.”

A preliminary investigation indicated that the 2020 Hyundai Tuscon driven by Joseph Rider 73 of Whiting, pulled out of a parking lot to head west on Rt. 530 at which time a collision occurred with the motorcycle which was heading east. This caused the motorcycle to leave the roadway.


The accident is currently being investigated by Patrolman Michael Bulwinski of the Berkeley Township Traffic Safety Bureau.


Summonses were issued to Rider for careless driving and improper turn.
