Man Pistol Whipped, Bound and Robbed in Home Invasion in Homestead

HOMESTEAD, PA – Police are investigating after a man reported a home invasion where he was bound and beaten buy for men who held him at gunpoint while they robbed his home.

On Saturday, September 3, at approximately 3:50 p.m., Homestead Police responded to a 9-1-1 call in the 200 block of East 18th Avenue in Homestead for a report of an armed home invasion robbery.

“An adult male victim was outside his residence when he was approached by four males who arrived at the victim’s residence in a stolen black Kia sedan. One of the males held the victim at gunpoint as the actors forced the victim inside his residence,” police said. “Once inside the residence, the victim’s hands were bound behind his back. One of the actors struck the victim in the head with a pistol several times. The victim advised first responders that he would seek medical attention on his own. The actors stole $19,000 in cash, a dark blue Cadillac sedan, as well as some personal items.”


Detectives identified Craig Prince, 20, of the Garfield section of the City of Pittsburgh as one of the suspects. On Thursday, September 8, 2022 at approximately 2:50 pm, Allegheny County Police detectives and Pittsburgh Police officers detained suspect Craig Prince while serving a search warrant in the Garfield section of the City of Pittsburgh.

As a result of the investigation, several items believed to be used in the Homestead robbery were found, including the stolen black Kia sedan. After consulting with the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office, Craig Prince was charged with aggravated assault, burglary, robbery, conspiracy, persons not to possess, use, manufacture or control firearms, receiving stolen property, carrying a firearm without a license, and unlawful restraint. Prince was transported to the Allegheny County Jail where he is currently being held on a $50,000 bond. As of the time of this release, bond has not been posted.
