Police Investigating Random Attack of Two in Midtown Manhattan

NEW YORK, NY – Two people were assaulted in random attacks that occurred within 15 minutes of each other, allegedly by the same suspect in Midtown Manhattan.

Now police are searching for a man wearing a pink shirt, a light baby blue hat, and turquoise sneakers who is suspected of committing both assaults.

The incident happened on September 8th at around 8:40 p.m. at the corner of 7th Avenue and West 35th Street. Police reported the attack was unprovoked and there were no words or discussion between the victims and the suspects before they were attacked.


In one of the two incidents, the suspect approached a 38-year-old man and punched him multiple times in the head causing the victim to lose consciousness and fall to the ground. The victim suffered several face lacerations, a Fractured jaw, and a chipped tooth. He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital for treatment.

The New York City Police Department reported that 15 minutes later a second attack took place against a 44 year-old man at the corner of 7th Avenue and West 31st Street. In this incident, the suspect punched the 44-year-old man repeatedly in the face and then fled on foot.

The second victim only suffered a nosebleed and did not require medical attention.

According to police investigating the incident, no suspects or motives have been announced at this time. No arrests have been made.
