Jackson Man Facing Life-Threatening Injuries After Crashing Dirt Bike into SUV

MANCHESTER, NJ – A Jackson Township man is in grave condition after a dirt bike he was riding along Route 571 and Ridgeway Boulevard crashed into an SUV.

According to police, on Sunday, at approximately 12:30 am, officers from the Manchester Township Police Department responded to the intersection of County Route 571 and Ridgeway Boulevard, to investigate a crash in which a motorcyclist collided with an SUV.

“Upon arrival, officers observed an orange dirt bike and its operator lying roadside. The second vehicle, a Toyota Highlander was also observed on the scene with extensive front driver’s side damage. The investigation revealed that the SUV was initiating a left turn from CR-571 onto Ridgeway Boulevard when the dirt bike impacted the driver’s side. The dirt bike was not equipped with any lighting devices,” the Manchester Police Department said in a statement on Sunday. “The driver of the Toyota, 38-year-old Ryan Niemiec of New Egypt, reported no injuries on scene. The motorcycle operator, 29-year-old Zachary Childs of Jackson sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune via medevac. Mr. Childs is currently listed in critical condition.”

We said the motorcycle, which was not equipped with lights or any Illuminating devices appears to be a contributing factor to the crash.
