Philadelphia Police Investigating Weekend Murder on Market Street

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating a weekend shooting that took the life of one man on Market Street.

According to police, on Saturday, at approximately 2:15 p.m., two men became involved in an altercation on a trolley platform at 1900 Market Street.

“During the altercation, one male pulled a handgun from his waistband and shot several times, killing the other male. The offender fled up to the 1900 block of Market Street and was lost in the area. Several cameras throughout the subway system caught images of the offender,” the Philadelphia Police Department said in a statement this weekend.


The shooter is described as a black male between the age of 20 and 30 years old. He has a medium build and was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt, a dark zip-up sweatshirt with a light-colored pattern, and light hood lining. He wore dark pants and dark slides with a dark backpack, according to police.
