What the ordinance says

SECTION 1. Purpose: The Jackson Township Police Department has previously requested the County of Ocean to investigate and make recommendations with respect to whether a no stopping, standing or parking zone is appropriate along County Route 14 (Larsen Road) within the municipality.


SECTION 2. By letter dated June 22, 2022, the Office of the Ocean County Engineer has advised there is no object to the Township establishing installing and maintaining no stopping or standing zones along certain areas of CR 14 (Larsen Road). Therefore, there is hereby ordained that no stopping or standing zones shall be established as follows:

SECTION 3. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.

SECTION 4. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a Court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision, and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions hereof.


SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall take effect after second reading and publication as required by law. And upon the adoption of a concurring Resolution from the Ocean County Board of Supervisors.

What it means

The township of Jackson is prohibiting parking on Larsen Road in the area from the corner of New Prospect to the end of the Jackson Board of Education property known as Johnson School / Crawford Elementary School and along the curb on the northern side by the new high density housing complex.
