NEW YORK, NY – A 46-year-old New York City woman was killed after she fell out of her boyfriend’s Jeep Cherokee in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood and was struck by a passing car.

The New York City Police Department said the bizarre incident happened last night near St. John’s Place and Rochester Avenue. According to the initial investigation by police, it is suspected that the woman was attempting to get into the rear passenger seat of her boyfriend’s Jeep Cherokee when he sped away. That caused her to fall out of the vehicle. She was then struck by an SUV that fled the scene.

According to investigators, the boyfriend was not aware the woman was attempting to get into his vehicle when he began to drive away. No charges have been filed against the boyfriend at this time.
