Toms River North Crushes Long Branch as Undefeated Season Continues

TOMS RIVER, NJ – The Toms River North Mariners (5-0) traveled to Long Branch on Saturday to take on the struggling Green Wave (1-3). A dominant all-around performance by the Mariners ended with a 42-7 victory, maintaining their place at the top of the Shore Conference Colonial Division.

Josh Moore had two touchdown runs, joined by quarterback Micah Ford who started the point parade by the Mariners with an 8-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Nick Walano recovered a Long Branch fumble in the endzone to give the Mariners a 14-0 lead.


The Mariners led the Green Wave 28-7 at half-time after a 12-yard pass from Ford to Jeremiah Pruitt.

In the second half, Ford went long to connect with Tareq Council with a 43-yard touchdown pass. Moore added one last touchdown in the fourth quarter to put the final nail in the coffin for Long Branch.

Ford connected 5 out of 9 passes for 114 yards on the day, while rushing for 134 yards. Moore had 74 rushing yards in the victory.
