Three teenagers charged as adults in Oxon Hill carjacking

OXON HILL, MD – Three teenagers aged 16 and 17 years old were arrested and charged as adults after committing a carjacking on Livingston Road in Oxon Hill Sunday evening.

According to police, two of the teens were from Oxon Hill, and the third was from Washington, DC.

At around 6:55 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to the report of an armed carjacking. The victim of the carjacking said their vehicle was stolen at gunpoint by three young suspects.


After forcing the victim out of the car, the suspects fled, driving the victims’ black Honda Civic, but where observed by police just a few blocks away. After matching the vehicle and the suspects to the description of the previous carjacking report, police initiated a traffic stop.

The suspects exited the vehicle and ran in different directions. Using a police helicopter, officers were able to quickly find and arrest the three suspects. A loaded gun was found on one of the teenage suspects

All three of the teenagers were charged with armed carjacking, and a 17-year-old suspect was charged with illegal possession of a handgun.
