Two juveniles struck, 17 shots fired in Pittsburgh shooting

PITTSBURGH, PA – Two Pittsburgh teenagers were shot during a shooting we’re police claimed 17 shots were fired, detected by their shot spotter alert system.

At around 8:45 p.m. last night, Pittsburgh police officers from zone 6 responded to the 2900 block of Zephyr Avenue. Upon their arrival, officers found a juvenile with multiple gunshot wounds to their legs.

Officers applied tourniquets to the victim’s leg to stabilize him prior to the arrival of Pittsburgh EMS crews.


Well on the scene, police located a second juvenile victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot. Both juveniles were provided with basic life services on scene and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Both juveniles are listed in stable condition.

At this time, police have not identified a suspect or a motive in this shooting or whether the two subjects were the intended targets.

The Pittsburgh Police Department said the investigation is ongoing.
