Collier County to provide free debris removal for residents cleaning out after Ian

Phil Stilton

COLLIER COUNTY, FL – The Collier County Sheriff’s Office today announced that residents in the county do not have to pay contractors to remove debris from Hurricane Ian.

“Thinking about paying someone to remove your storm debris? Close your wallet,” county officials said today. “Collier County will haul it away for free. Collier County government advises residents to leave storm debris at their curbside for free collection and disposal by the county’s debris removal contractor.”

If you are hiring a contractor to clean out your home or business, all they need to do is to leave the debris in piles curbside.

“If you have hired contractors to remove storm debris, tell them to leave it curbside,” the county said today. “There is no need to pay someone for debris disposal; just leave it out by your curb.”
