Man accidentally discharges gun while adjusting pants at Arundel Mills Mall

ANNE ARUNDEL, MD – Police are investigating after a man shopping at the Arundel Mills Mall accidentally discharged his concealed firearm while adjusting his pants.

Torrington police on Saturday, at around 3:30 p.m., officers responded to the food court at the mall in response to reports of a gunshot.

Upon their arrival, officers quickly located the location where the gun was fired but found the suspect has since fled the mall.


“During the investigation, officers learned that the suspect appeared to be adjusting his pants when the firearm he was concealing discharged into the floor,” the Anne Arundel Police Department said in a statement.

According to police, there were no injuries reported.

The suspect was identified as a black male with a dark complexion, medium build, black hair, black cargo pants, and wearing a black tan shirt and black sneakers. He is considered to be armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.
