Shoplifter pepper sprays NYC Central Park Best Buy employee

NEW YORK, NY – A thief at a New York City Best Buy store was intent on leaving the store with an expensive laptop he didn’t pay for. On Saturday, the unidentified black male suspect, wearing a yellow cap, jacket, and white patterned shirt, attempted to leave the Central Park location with the laptop.

The suspect was confronted by a store employee at around 3:55 pm on Saturday. The suspect pepper sprayed the employee and fled the location with the laptop.

On 10/15/22 at approx. 3:55PM, inside Best Buy 1880 Bway @NYPD20PCT Manhattan. The suspect pepper sprayed a store employee that confronted him for shoplifting a laptop. Any info call us at 800-577-TIPS

No arrests have been made. NYC police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the shoplifter.
