‘Issues Of Survival’: ‘The Five’ Blast Biden For Living In ‘Fantasy Land’ On Crime, Inflation

Panelists on “The Five” blasted President Joe Biden Friday afternoon for his performance on crime and inflation, which one panelist called “issues of survival.”

“This is fantasy land; this is la la land. You have a president out there telling America that the economy is strong and then we got a mayor telling us that crime is all in our heads, it is just a perception, everything is great, the economy is great,” Jeanine Pirro said. “He says, what did he say, poor people, middle class people and even rich people are gonna do great, it is a matter of time before it all happens. Look, the American people know what it costs to buy gas, to buy food. They’re very worried, they’re worried about their heat, I am worried about the heating bill, okay? Everybody is worried.”

“The bottom line is you have to ask yourself, it’s that age-old question: Are you better off under Joe Biden than you were two years ago?” Pirro continued. “Inflation was 1.6% two years ago, now it is 8.3, highest in 40 years. Now he says gas prices are coming down. When Trump was president, they were $2.30. Now, they’re down to $4 from an all-time high and you think we’re doing well. This is a time for Americans, we’ll talk about crime in Katie’s block, this is a time for Americans to say enough.”

A gallon of gas costs an average of $3.82 according to AAA, up from $3.369 a year ago and $2.1218 on Nov. 3, 2020. The Consumer Price Index increased 8.2% year-to-year in September after rising by 8.3% in August, 8.6% in July, 9.1% in June and 8.5% in May.

“Things aren’t going to get better for Democrats on the issues. On issues of inflation and crime, the way Democrats and particularly the White House have ignored this is incredible considering how it effects people,” Katie Pavlich said. “Inflation and crime are issues of survival to a human being. If you can’t afford to feed your family, if you can’t afford to pay your mortgage, if you feel like every time you get on the subway or stop to put gas in the car that your life is in danger as a result, whether you’re in Philadelphia or somewhere else as a result of crime, those are existential threats to your well-being, to your family, and yet they have acted like they’re not even an issue.”

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
