BALTIMORE, MD – Gun crime and violent gun-related attacks are nearing an all-time high in Baltimore, and it’s not legal gun owners who are to blame. The illegal gun trade powers the crime wave in the city, and on Friday, the Baltimore Police Department arrested two illegal gun traffickers.

“In reference to the recent violence within the Southwest and Western District, investigators from our Gun Violence Unit began investigating several individuals who were suspected to be engaged in the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics,” the Baltimore Police Department announced today.

On Friday, a SWAT team and detectives executed a search and seizure warrant at a home on Rosedale Street suspected of being one of the sources of the illegal gun trade in the city.

During the operation, officers recovered several firearms, ammunition, and drugs from the location.

33-year-old Dorian Mallory and 35-year-old Brian Mallory were both arrested and charged with trafficking illegal firearms and multiple drug trafficking charges.

“Both suspects were transported to our Homicide unit to be debriefed by investigators before being transported to Central Booking Intake Facility where they were charged with Firearm and drug trafficking and CDS possession,” the department said this morning in a statement.
