Man shot and killed after throwing brick at security guard

BALTIMORE, MD – A man was shot dead after assaulting an armed security guard in Southeast Baltimore with a brick. Police arrived to the 4000 block of East Lombard Street at around 1:30 am Monday morning to find one man shot with a single gunshot wound to the torso.

He was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

According to police, officers on patrol heard gunfire and rushed toward the Lombard Street area.


“On November 7, 2022, at approximately 1:26 a.m., Southeast District patrol officers were patrolling in the area of East Lombard Street when they heard discharging coming from the 4000 block of East Lombard Street.

“Once at the location, officers located a 35-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body,” the Baltimore Police Department said. “The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased by hospital staff.”

Investigators determined that a security guard was being assaulted by an individual who was throwing a brick at him. The guard told officers that the victim through a brick at him, causing him to discharge his weapon, striking the victim.
