Two children struck by car in Sunset Park in serious condition

NEW YORK, NY – Two Brooklyn girls, ages 6 and 8, were struck by a motorist while crossing the street at 5th Street and Seventh Avenue at around 2:15 pm on Monday.

According to the New York City Police Department, the girls were crossing the street when they were struck by a Honda sedan driving north on Seventh Avenue in Sunset Park.

The driver of the car, identified only as a 41-year-old, remained at the scene until police arrived.


Officials reported the 8-year-old girl was in critical condition at the hospital. The 6-year-old girl was also treated for serious injuries but is expected to recover at this time.
