Trenton man charged for killing girlfriend, hiding her body in basement trash bag

TRENTON, NJ – A Trenton man has been arrested and charged with killing his girlfriend, Corrine Daniels, stuffing her body inside a garbage bag that he stored in a basement.

Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said Alton Eubanks, 48 was charged with purposefully disturbing, moving and/or concealing human remains was charged this week with the murder. Daniels, who was 41, lived at the Park Avenue home with Eubanks.

On September 21, Trenton police received a request for a well-being check at a residence on Park Avenue.


“Responding officers forced entry and located the body of a deceased individual in the basement,” the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office said today. “On September 22, an autopsy was conducted by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office.”

Eubanks was arrested on October 12 in Middleburg, NY, by members of the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force.

He was charged on November 7th with first-degree murder.

“Investigation into Daniels’ death revealed that she and Eubanks lived together at the Park Avenue address as boyfriend and girlfriend. After Daniels’ death, Eubanks placed her body in a black trash bag and moved her to the basement, where she was located by officers,” Onofri said.
