Newark Police asking the public to help identify Halloween armed robber

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured male suspect in connection with a business robbery that occurred on Monday, October 31, 2022.

NEWARK, NJ – On Halloween, a man entered the Sunoco gas station at 1400 McCarter Highway in Newark and pulled a gun. At gunpoint, he ordered the two store clerks to lie on the ground.

Police said he entered the business at around 3:20 am and hopped the counter, pointing a silver revolver at the two station clerks. He stole cash from the register, then forced his victims to the ground.

The suspect fled the scene heading westbound on 4th Avenue.


Today, the Newark Police Department released photos of the suspect and is asking the public for help in identifying the suspect.

Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in identifying this suspect. He is described as a black male, wearing a black Puma hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black and yellow sneakers.
