Argument between two women turns deadly, suspect in custody

COLUMBUS, OH – A woman has been arrested after an argument with another woman escalated into gunfire, leaving her victim dead in East Columbus after midnight on Monday.

A 41-year-old woman has been arrested for the deadly shooting that occurred overnight in east Columbus. In connection with the death of Britney Boateng, Tyona Dodson has been charged with murder.

Columbus Police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 400 block of South Weyant Avenue at approximately 1 a.m. on Monday. The 22-year-old victim was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound when officers arrived. A short time later, Columbus Fire medics pronounced the victim dead. According to investigators, the fatal shooting was the result of an argument between both women.

On November 21, 2022, at approximately 1 a.m., Columbus Police officers were dispatched to the 400 block of South Weyant Avenue on a report of a shooting.
