‘Unbelievable’: Fox News Host Rips Fauci For Dodging COVID Origins Question

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade ripped Dr. Anthony Fauci Tuesday for dodging a question over COVID-19 origins, saying Fauci has “follies he does not want to own up to” regarding the pandemic.

Kilmeade’s comments came after a heated exchange between White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and Today News Africa White House Chief Correspondent Simon Ateba after Jean-Pierre shut down a question from Daily Caller White House correspondent Diana Glebova on COVID-19 origins.

“Unbelievable. You see Anthony Fauci sitting there… he just wanted to go and say farewell and then take questions,” Kilmeade, host of “Fox and Friends,” said. “He wanted to take questions according to the report … you think the question would be personal or something out of bounds, you know what the question was … do you have answers to the questions of where this virus came from, the origins of COVID-19.”

Republicans on the United States Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) issued a report in October claiming that the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic stemmed from a lab leak at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Critics, including former Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Robert Redfield, allege that Fauci dismissed the “lab leak” theories in favor of theories that the virus emerged from a so-called “wet market” in Wuhan.

Fauci took part in a “conspiracy” that “acted in an antithetical way to science” and misled Congress about whether he funded “gain-of-function” research, according to Redfield.

Fauci’s net worth increased by $5 million during the COVID-19 pandemic, which included $1.7 million in gains from his investment portfolio. He announced he would step down as President Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser Aug. 22.

“He never wanted to ask that. If you ask that on Twitter or Facebook, you get disabled, you know. It’s not up to you. If you brought up, you know, isn’t the lab an issue, like Senator Tom Cotton brought up and the president said, I agree with Tom Cotton, stop flights from there,” Kilmeade said. “Remember how many times Anthony Fauci has been wrong, and how many times he’s owned up to it? He has been wrong a lot and he never owned up to it.”

Kilmeade lambasted Fauci for some of the advice he gave during the height of the pandemic.

“The problem was when Anthony Fauci was never meant to head up a task force, a Coronavirus task force and the control of it, he’s telling us shut down schools, not to have Thanksgiving, wear two masks, he’s having the CDC director say wear goggles,” Kilmeade said.

“Originally, when he was questioned about this in January at the beginning of the pandemic, it’s not going to be a problem, when people said should we wear masks, he said masks are a false sense of security, the next thing of course you should wear masks,” Kilmeade continued. “Remember when it was the pandemic of the unvaccinated? He has a video of follies he does not want to own up to.”
