NEW YORK, NY – Life in the New York City subway system has always been strange and often risky, but lately it has been downright dangerous and creepy.

A rash of groping incidents in recent months has put women on edge, but last week, police reported an attempted rape aboard the 4 train near the Bowling Green station in Manhattan.

According to detectives with the New York City Police Department, a heavy-set white male with bleached hair and a ponytail removed his clothes and laid on top of a 24-year-old woman inside the subway car at around 11:25 pm.

The man then began to touch his victim forcibly and attempted to remove her clothing. She was able to flee the suspect and notify the police. By the time police arrived, the suspect had fled.

At this time, no arrests have been made and police have released photos of the wanted suspect.
