The cat is out of the bag. That’s what an official with the Transportation Safety Authority said after somebody tried to catnap a feline by shoving the orange kitty into a suitcase before boarding a plane at JFK International Airport last week.

Screeners noticed orange fur sticking out of the suitcase and confirmed their find after passing the bag through an x-ray screener.

When asked about the cat, the passenger said it wasn’t their cat, but belonged to somebody else in the house and was not sure how the gat got into the suitcase. The owner said the cat must have crawled into the suitcase while the traveler was packing.
