17-year-old girl victim of accidental shooting in Brooklyn

NEW YORK, NY – A 17-year-old girl was shot in the leg inside a building in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn Sunday morning. According to police, the shooting was an accidental discharge by a man known to the teen.

The incident happened in the area of Wilson Avenue and Menahan Street at around 12:50 am, according to a spokesperson with the New York City Police Department.

Shortly after the teenager was taken to Kings County Hospital, where she is recovering in stable condition, two black males were led out of the building in handcuffs by police officers. One of the two men is believed to be the shooter.


At this time, police did not say what charges each of the men are facing.
