Five Christmas daycation destinations at the Jersey Shore

ASBURY PARK, NJ – You would never think about spending Christmas at the Jersey Shore, but a holiday staycation is a great one-day getaway from the hustle and bustle of the cities, even for locals.

If you’re looking for a festive and fun place to spend Christmas this year? The Jersey Shore has a lot to offer. From great food and shopping to fun activities and attractions, here are five great Christmas destinations down the shore.

Long Branch

Long Branch is a great Christmas destination in New Jersey. This historic town is located at the Jersey Shore, and it is full of holiday cheer. There are plenty of things to do in Long Branch during the holidays, including visiting Santa at the Village and going ice skating at Pier Village. Santa makes several appearances at Pier Village throughout the season.

Cape May

Cape May is one of the most popular Christmas destinations in New Jersey. There are plenty of things to do in Cape May during the Christmas season, including taking a carriage ride through the historic district, visiting Santa at the Washington Street Mall, and attending the Holiday Concert Series at the Physick Estate.

Ocean City

This charming beach town is the perfect place to spend Christmas by the sea. The boardwalk and beaches are beautiful at Christmastime, and there are plenty of fun holiday events going on in town. Visit Santa at his workshop on the boardwalk, go ice skating at the rink by the beach, or take a horse-drawn carriage ride through town. You can also enjoy some festive shopping, dining, and entertainment at the many unique shops and restaurants in Ocean City.

Wildwood

There’s no place like Wildwood during Christmas time! This charming town is located on the Jersey Shore and is known for its beautiful beaches and boardwalk. During the holidays, the town is decked out in festive decorations, making it a great place to enjoy some holiday cheer. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants to explore, so you can find the perfect gift for your loved ones.

The Borough of Wildwood Crest Mayor’s Wellness Campaign and the Wildwood Crest Recreation Department are sponsoring a community Holiday Lights Walk on Monday, Dec. 19, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. Walkers will meet at the corner of Rambler Road and New Jersey Avenue and will take an approximately 30-minute walk along Sunset Lake and the surrounding neighborhood to view the various holiday and Christmas light displays. The walk will be led by Wildwood Crest Mayor’s Wellness Campaign coordinator Laura Farrall. The Holiday Lights Walk is free but registration is encouraged. Those interested are asked to send an email to lfarrall@wildwoodcrest.org. Walkers should wear warm clothes and bring a flashlight.

Atlantic City
