ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD – Police officers rescued a young teenager who jumped from the dock into a frozen creek on Monday to save a friend who was in the water. According to police, officers arrived at around 2:45 pm to find the two teens in the freezing water in the creek.

According to police, on of the teens jumped into the water to save the other who had fallen in previously, police said on Tuesday.

“When officers got on the scene, one child made it safely to shore, while the other was still submerged and clinging to a piling,’ AACPD said in a statement today. “Officers were able to pull the child to safety and get him to an ambulance. Officers learned that the child they rescued did not fall into the creek but jumped in, in a heroic attempt to rescue his friend.”

The agency released the officer’s body camera video today.
