A CNN analyst slated to receive a medal from President Joe Biden expressed frustration Friday that former President Donald Trump was “still…a free man.”

“I’m frustrated at the lack of accountability for those that were responsible for orchestrating the attack on our Capitol on January 6th,” CNN law enforcement analyst Michael Fanone told CNN “This Morning” co-host Kaitlan Collins. “You know, we’re two years out, and while we have cycled a lot of individuals through the criminal justice system that participated in the attack, you know, Donald Trump is still walking around a free man.”

Fanone, a former D.C. Metropolitan Police officer injured in the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the Capitol building, is among 12 people announced as recipients of the Presidential Citizens Medal in a ceremony Friday. The Jan. 6 Select Committee sentthe Justice Department a referral Dec. 19, claiming Trump broke multiple laws, including inciting or assisting an insurrection.

No federal official has been charged, but the Justice Department has seized cell phones belonging to Republican Rep. Scott Perry of Pennsylvania, former DOJ official Jeffrey Clark and law professor John Eastman. The Justice Department has prosecuted over 900 people for actions during the Capitol riot.

Fanone previously compared Republicans and those observing ballot boxes in Arizona to the KKK during an October  CNN appearance.
