MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ – A Newark man with a criminal history was arrested after breaking into a home and stealing the family’s car in Morris Township while a child was inside the home.

Tysean Ware, 20, of Newark, has been arrested as a result of a multi-agency investigation.

A report of a burglary in progress was received by Morris Township Police Department members at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to the responding officers, Ware entered a Morris Township residence twice and stole a Mercedes SL500 Maybach from the resident. Video surveillance showed Ware entering the residence and stealing the Mercedes SL500 Maybach.

At the time of the break-in, a child was present in the home.

The investigation revealed Ware was in Morristown that day for a scheduled visit with his Morris County Recovery Court Probation Officer. Ware was dropped off and picked up in a stolen Range Rover during his probation visit. With proceeds inside from burglaries that occurred the same day in Mendham Township and Morris Township, the stolen Range Rover was recovered in Ridgefield Park, Bergen County.

During the summer of 2022, Ware was convicted of theft of a motor vehicle and eluding following an incident in Florham Park. Despite the State’s objections, Ware was admitted to the Morris County Recovery Court Program.

On Wednesday, while he was driving a stolen Mercedes-Maybach, Ware rammed a patrol car in Secaucus. Shortly after this incident, the stolen Mercedes-Maybach was recovered in Newark.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Operations Division, the New Jersey State Police, and the Newark Police Department arrested Tysean Ware on Thursday while he was entering a vehicle outside his residence in Newark
