Access to Jersey Shore beach.

The weather is below freezing, and the lakes are once again freezing over at the Jersey Shore, but the folks over at Travel Pulse are thinking Jersey Shore summers at the beach. This week, the travel website announced its pick for the best destination at the Jersey Shore.

The Jersey Shore is packed full of great destinations from Sandy Hook down to Cape May.

Whatever your want, you can find it at the Jersey Shore. Whether its urbanized towns like Asbury Park and Long Branch with a vibrant restaurant scene and exciting nightlife or family-friendly destinations such as Point Pleasant, Ocean City, and Wildwood. In between the hustle and bustle, you’ll find spots of serenity, such as Island Beach State Park, that has been left virtually untouched by man.

You can also find ‘off the beaten path’ small towns up and down the Jersey Shore to rent a home for the week and spend your summer days relaxing on the beach.

But one destination was named the top spot in the state by Travel Pulse and that’s Long Beach Island.

“Crowning a summer destination champion in New Jersey is like trying to pick a ski town in Colorado, to say you are spoiled rotten for choice is an understatement,” the site declared. “As fun as the boardwalk scene is up and down the Shore, Long Beach Island offers up a lower-key mix of laid-back beaches & towns, waves perfect for surfing and the remarkably atmospheric Barnegat Lighthouse.”
