71-year-old man target of robbery inside Brighton Beach supermarket

NEW YORK, NY – A 71-year-old man was targeted by two individuals in a coordinated robbery inside a Brighton Beach supermarket.

On Wednesday, police responded to the Big Bazaar supermarket on Brighton Beach Avenue after receiving a report of a robbery inside the store.

According to the police, the 71-year-old male victim was walking down an aisle when two unknown individuals approached from behind, and, acting in concert, removed his wallet from a backpack that he was wearing.


“The individuals then fled the location to parts unknown. The stolen wallet contained $500 cash, personal identification, and a bank card,” the NYPD said.

The suspects were a man and a woman, both with light complexions, medium builds, and black hair.
